As a client of Melbourne Athletic for 4 years I can say that I have most definitely improved my physical attributes and performance through strength/conditioning and rehabilitation. At early stages of my football, participating in u14s football, I experienced stress fractures in my lower back that came about from growth spurts and other participation in strenuous activities – inhibiting me from competing in sport. I was referenced by a coach to undergo strength/conditioning and rehabilitation with Michael Culliver for Melbourne Athletic. During this time Michael worked closely with me perfecting the correct technique and performing exercises aimed at recovering from stress fractures and progressing into strength exercises going forward in my performance. As I recovered from my stress fractures, myself and Michael began working on correct running technique for developing explosiveness and power, assisting my performance progressing into higher levels of football. Progressing into NAB league u18 football, I mentally and physically switched on and began to ramp up my training with Melbourne Athletic and I have certainly reaped the benefits. Working with Melbourne Athletic, I have found that my body has been conditioned properly to my chosen sport, and with this, I have developed a strong attribute to my football ability, which is speed. During 2018, my 20m sprint time was sitting at 3.2 seconds, continuing work with Melbourne Athletic, I improved my 20m sprint to 2.98 seconds by the year 2019. Coming into the fourth year working with Michael and second year of preseason for football, he saw that I was strong enough and ready to progress my speed to even greater lengths. The end of the 2020 pre-season, during the NAB league testing day, I ran the 20 m sprint in 2.89 seconds putting myself in the elite category. Placing myself 5th nationally and 2nd in the state for explosive speed ; in the NAB league competition. Without a doubt I can say that working with elite trainers at Melbourne Athletic, I have been able to improve my speed, enhancing my performance in my chosen sport. I very highly recommend Melbourne Athletic as a training partner.
